Delays in porting with Lyca

If there’s one thing that has been extremely beneficial to the average phone user, it’s mobile number porting.

This feature allows you to switch to a different mobile network without changing your number. This way, you don’t have to go through the hectic process of updating official documents and informing everyone about your new number.

It’s also a convenient way to find the right mobile provider for you.

The process is also quite simple.

In most cases, you request a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) from your current mobile operator and then share it with your new mobile operator. Fill out some essential information, and you’re done!

Everything goes smoothly 9 out of 10 times. And in the rare instance something goes wrong, we are here to help.

This article talks about the common reasons why there may be a delay in the Lyca Mobile porting process. Keep reading!

Common Reasons for Delays During Porting and Their Solutions

The process to port your old number to Lyca Mobile is actually pretty straightforward. Just purchase a plan, fill out a form and wait for the process to be completed.

However, if you’ve been waiting for an update for a while, then something might have gone wrong.

Here are the reasons why the number porting process might be delayed.

Service for Your Old Network is Cancelled / Disconnected

This is one mistake many make.

They may cancel their current mobile plan before the porting process is completed. In some cases, their current mobile may run out of validity.

The number porting process will be interrupted in both cases. This is because you will need an active mobile connection for the porting process to be completed successfully.

So, if you don’t have an active plan with your current mobile provider, then you’re going to run into issues when porting the number to Lyca.

The Porting Request Wasn’t Submitted Online

All number transfers to Lyca Mobile are done through the Transfer Your Number page on the official website. Only porting requests submitted through this page will be processed. Other channels are neither recommended nor accepted.

So, if you’ve submitted a number porting request and are yet to hear back from us, it’d be wise to check the medium used to submit the request.

My Number Still Hasn’t Been Transferred

If you have an active plan and submitted the request on the correct channel but are still experiencing delays, then you should talk to a customer support professional.
